Sicily....the most fascinating history in the world

Sicily offers tremendous holiday variety. Unforgettable landscapes (such as Zingaro nature reserve or Mothia salt planes) attract nature lovers and atmospheric towns and villages (such as Castellammare del Golfo, San Vito Lo Capo and Trapani) ensure holidays in Sicily are a popular choice with those seeking a strong culture heritage and fascinating history.

Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and with a coastline of more than a thousand kilometres, offers the visitor wide sandy beaches, windswept cliffs, quiet coves, and sophisticated and bustling resorts. Inland is a different world of rural traditions and age-old cultures, dotted with a wealth of historical sites (such as Segesta and Selinunte greek archeological site). The dramatic mountainous interior ensures plenty of rewarding walking holidays in Sicily. Walkers and nature lovers will find a spring and early summer holiday in Sicily especially satisfying.

Sicily holidays also offer plenty of scope for watersports fans. Diving holidays in Sicily (Scopello above all) offer exciting diving relatively close to home. A superb, all-year round climate makes Sicily an attractive choice for low-season holiday breaks (last week of October is always superb!).

Romans, Greeks, Spanish, Arabs, French.......each civilization has left its contribution in the amazing architecture (and Palermo is a clear example of this), in the distinctive Sicilian dialect and in the added ingredients to the cuisine. An ideal holiday in Sicily would include a generous serving of delicious Sicily cuisine: "parmigiana" (aubergine cake), "pasta cu li sardi" (pasta with anchovies, sultanos and pine nuts), "carciofa arrustuta" (roasted artichokes), "involtini di pesce spada" (hallibut rolls stuffed with breadcrumb and olive oil), "frittedda" (a soup with fave beans, artichoke hearts, fresh peas and olive oil), "cassateddi" (ricotta turnovers), "granita" (flavoured crushed ice) and many many more!.

Sicily has learnt a lot from all its visitors and its culture is much more different to the italian one. Sicily is an island of delightful contrasts, which also just happens to have some of the most fascinating history in the world.

Why Sicilian Dreams

Visiting Italy cannot terminate at Naples or at Amalfi's Riviera. We do believe that southern Italy, and Sicily ("Sicilia") in particular, is a place worth to be known.

Among all kinds of accommodation in Sicily, we think that
